Each graphic has different proportions of width to height so this calculation can be a bit complex.
When you pick your graphic you are given seven different choices of sizes (Small to 4XL)

In the brackets beside the size choice are measurements in inches. The first measurement is the maximum lineal measurement (length or width) that you'd like the decal to be. Use the graphics longest side measurement for this.
For example say you're looking at one of the 4x4 truck designs that's to go on a 18 inch high by 13 inch wide vehicle window . The graphic you've picked is one of the 4x4 designs which is about two times as wide as it is high (a 2:1 ratio). In this case there are three choices that would fit on the 13 inch wide window (Small 6in/36sqin, Medium 9in/81sqin & Large 12in/144sqin ). If you decide you would like the decal 11 inches wide you'd choose Large (12in/144sqin) being that the longest side measurement chosen (11) is equal to or less than the 12 inch maximum side length of the size Large.

The second measurement in the brackets is the size in square inches that the decal has to be smaller than. Given the 11 inch width decal and the 2:1 ratio the decal height would be about 5.5inches (11/2) . Therefore 11x5.5 = 60.5 sqin which is less than or equal to 144 sq inches (Large (12in/144sqin )). This calculation is only necessary for XL & larger.

Since you chose the large decal 11 inches wide and not 12 you would give us a note to that effect during the checkout process. Otherwise we would just use our discretion and probably make it the full 12 inches wide.
You can also include other notes during checkout like "Make the 2nd one a mirror image" or "distort it so its as wide as it is long" or " it can't be wider than 39" nor higher than 4 inches or anything else you can think of. Our aim is to make it exactly the way you want it.
